"Amazonien – Entwicklung heißt Entwaldung" (Amazonia – development means deforestation) is a social media campaign that deals with the topic of deforestation in the Amazon region. It's about the connection between your own consumption and it's impact on nature. Morphing transformations from resources to consumer products and from natural habitat to exploited landscape are shown. Texts and animations point out grievances and suggest direct alternatives to the well-known everyday products. Instead of collecting donations or signatures, the campaign is intended to remind consumers of the natural origin of man-made things. It should give them a greater awareness of their purchase decisions so that they can make long term contributions to a more sustainable life.
This project was developed as part of my master's thesis at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences in Germany.
