Sandra Britz completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in communication design at Mainz University of Applied Sciences and spent an exchange semester at Norwich University of the Arts in England. There, she focused on research, reflection, and experimentation in the field of illustration. Her final projects specialized in ecological themes, such as a website with works on coal and animated posters about deforestation in the Amazon region. Towards the end of her studies, the works became increasingly abstract and experimental.
In her artistic practice, she currently focuses primarily on the perfect harmony of color, form, and texture in a broad spectrum of media and themes. Her works often move between music, film, pop culture, nature, and design. They are created through days and weeks of concentrated work on the computer. In addition to the results, it is also about the state of being so immersed in a work of art that you feel as if you are being sucked into the screen. From intense periods of staring and experimenting, to creative dead ends and new beginnings, to countless files and megabytes, to finally have the one image that feels right.
She worked as a graphic designer at a design agency that also operated as an independent publisher, where she supported customers from verious industries in print and digital sectors and did the design and projectmanagement of several self-published magazines in the areas of culture, business, gastronomy and real estate.
